Autumn is a good time for photographing my home town of Utrecht in the Netherlands.
There are many old parks with large trees clothed in colourful foliage at this time of year and the only limitation is the shortening of the days, which sadly leaves fewer and fewer hours of daylight to photograph in.
Being a photographer and a parent means that you inevitably end up with a lot of photographs of your child. Now, I do not intend to bore the world with the thousands of family snapshots that I have shot over the years :-), but occasionally one of the photographs featuring my daughter is strong enough to stand on its own as an image, in my opinion.
Welcome! I am an amateur photographer from the Netherlands (born in 1977). On this website I share my photo series and photo stories shot in and around my home town of Utrecht or while traveling abroad.
My interest is mostly nature photography – flowers, trees, insects, landscapes – but I also like photographing cities (streets and buildings) and street art.
I grew up with my father’s (and originally my grandfather’s) Nikon F2 + Nikkor 50mm f/2 AI. We had no other lenses so it really was one camera, one lens. Later we added an Olympus mju II for easier traveling.
Now I mostly shoot with a Fujifilm X-E1 + Fujinon 35mm f/1.4, which is basically a very similar setup to the old Nikon, but I also have an X-T2 and some other lenses, so the one camera, one lens approach no longer really applies.
